America After the Great American Evolution

Political Ideology is a Civil and Political Right

Civil and political rights are a class of rights that protect individuals’ freedom from infringement by governments, social organizations, and private individuals. They ensure one’s ability to participate in the civil and political life of the society and state without discrimination or repression.

Political ideology must be protected as a civil and political right in America even though not expressly covered in the Civil Rights Act. (Do we really need a law to prohibit obvious bad behavior?) Americans must be free to express their political ideology in any lawful method they choose including hats, bumper stickers, pennants, yard signs, peaceful gatherings, advertisements, opinions, etc.

All laws will be enforced; new laws will be passed; outdated laws will be repealed or fixed

All laws that exist must be enforced. We are a country of laws. We owe it to America/Americans to only have good laws on the books and to enforce such laws without prejudice.

If a law is outdated, bad, unfair, confusing, etc. either repeal it or fix it. Because this has not been regularly done by Congress, America has a mess. There must be a transition period before we can truly enforce all laws. The 116th Congress needs to get this “repeal/fix” done before asking to be re-elected.

If we have a problem that needs a new law, draft it and pass it on a timely basis. Problems not addressed never get better.

Article I, Section 1. All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States. This is one of Congress’ main responsibilities – they need to step up and do it well.

Representatives for We the People – Interdependence will replace partisanship

Every two years we choose all 435 members of the House and 1/3 of the Senators to represent We the People. Each one chosen swears to support and defend the Constitution and to faithfully discharge their duties. The Constitution covers ALL Americans. Each representative of We the People must do what is best for ALL current and future Americans as follows:

  • Our Posterity

  • Those we will invite to become citizens

  • Minors that will inherit America and become the future leaders

  • Those that voted for them

  • Those that did not vote

  • Those that did not vote for them

Americans depend on each other. One side does not fit all – never has never will. Partisanship must become a bad memory of the past before it kills America. Our first infrastructure project for America must be to “Tear Down The Aisle”.

Members of Congress must think and act interdependently for ALL, forever.

Quality of Bills – Optimize will replace compromise

Congress has a duty to optimize results for America/Americans. Each Bill passed by each House should receive a letter grade based on the number of affirmative votes cast for the Bill using the standard grading scale used in schools. So, a Bill passing with a 90% or greater gets an “A” and a bill passing with less than 60% gets an “F”.

The only way to improve the quality of Bills passed by Congress will be for Congress to work interdependently with the focus on “optimizing” Bills for the best interests of America. A Bill with a 2/3rds affirmative vote will always be better for America than one passing with a simple majority, especially if the simple majority was along party lines. No Bill should ever be passed without a 2/3rds affirmative vote of both Houses – if the Bill doesn’t have the support of 2/3rds of the hearts and minds of those in Congress, keep working until it does.

America’s Team – Working for will replace working against

The 116th Congress has 535 members and two years to devote to making America better. There is no time to waste on non-productive, hurtful or frivolous endeavors. Congress must have the discipline to establish priorities and only take on important and realistic projects that will make America better.

Members of Congress must be measured based on their accomplishments in making America better by solving its problems. It will only be able to do this once they have gotten all the donkeys and elephants out of the chambers to allow human hearts and minds to do their jobs.

Americans and the World should see a united team and united team efforts in order to unite the United States of America. America’s Team should be a team working for ALL, forever.

Decorum of America’s Team – Honor and respect will replace bullying and disrespect

Americans have chosen the best and brightest from each State, District and Territory to represent them as America’s Team. Collectively America’s Team must represent ALL Americans.

Each team member should show great deference and courtesy toward each of their colleagues. Differences of opinion are expected, but these differences must be resolved professionally with the utmost honor and respect for each other, and the Americans they represent, as human beings within the appropriate chambers.

All members of Congress represent ALL Americans while in session. The session records should demonstrate the actions taken and the reasons for such actions. Differences of opinion among team members should be resolved in session or in private.

The camaraderie of America’s Team is on display for America and the World to see. We must see a unified team pulling for ALL, forever.

The American Dream - Opportunity will enable hope

Achieving the American Dream requires opportunity. Hopes/dreams are the catalyst for achievement. The combination of opportunity, hopes/dreams and hard work makes dreams become reality. The challenge is not just to redistribute the pie; the challenge is to keep making the pie bigger. America’s Team must ensure opportunities that will make America better are available for ALL, forever.

The Declaration of American Interdependence

The evolution will be considered successful when the President and 70% or better (a passing grade of “C”) members of Congress (70 or more Senators and 305 or more Congressmen) sign the Declaration of American Interdependence on the first day of each Congress – and yes, we will strive to get an “A” (90% or better). (We should never elect a President that won’t sign!):

We, representing ALL Americans, do hereby declare:

Americans have always come together and depended on each other.  We are one America joined together with a common purpose.  We recognize the words of Abraham Lincoln – “a house divided against itself cannot stand”.  We recognize we are not perfect but by working together we will constantly improve America.

We have been chosen by the American people to represent ALL of them.  We will put our party differences aside and work for ALL Americans. We will secure the Blessings of Liberty to our Posterity.

We promise to respect and honor each other.  We know that each of us are committed to ALL Americans and there will be differences of opinion as to how to best serve ALL.  Our differences will be resolved professionally with the utmost honor and respect for each other within the appropriate chambers.  We will not make disparaging comments about other members at any time.

We promise to work together to Make America better than it ever was with Liberty, Respect, Opportunity, Safety and Justice for ALL, forever.
